Power Locks: Description and Operation

HANDLES, LOCKS, LATCHES AND ENTRY SYSTEMS

The hood consists of the following components:
- hood latch striker
- hood latch
- hood latch release handle and cable

The front doors consist of the following components:
- front door latch push button rods
- exterior door handles
- front door latches
- interior door handles
- door lock cylinders
- door ajar switches
- door lock control switches
- door lock actuator

The rear doors consist of the following components:
- exterior door handles
- rear door upper latches
- rear door lower latches
- interior door handles
- door ajar switches

The tailgate consists of the following components:
- tailgate latch
- tailgate cables
- tailgate latch remote control
- tailgate release handle
- tailgate lock cylinder

Keyless Entry
The keyless entry system consists of the following components:
- remote transmitter
- smart junction box (SJB)







The remote transmitter initiates the following electronic door lock system functions:
- unlocks the driver door
- unlocks all doors
- locks all doors
- activates/deactivates the panic alarm
- commands the interior lamps on (when unlocking) and off (when locking)
- sounds the horn and flashes lamps once when LOCK is pressed twice within 3 seconds, and doors are closed
- sounds the horn twice when LOCK is pressed twice within 3 seconds, and any door is ajar

The remote transmitter has a minimum operating range of 10 m (33 feet).

NOTE:
- The panic alarm feature only operates when the key is OFF.
- The LOCK and UNLOCK buttons on the remote transmitter operate independently of key position.

The remote transmitters (up to 4) are reprogrammable and must be set at the same time.

To confirm that the doors have been locked, press the LOCK button again within 3 seconds of the first press. The lamps will flash if the doors have locked and all doors are closed.

To activate the panic alarm:
- Press the red PANIC button on the remote transmitter. The horn will sound and the parking lamps will flash for a maximum of 2 minutes and 45 seconds.

To deactivate the panic alarm:
- Press the red PANIC button on the remote transmitter.
- Turn the key to RUN/START.
