Fuel Injector Wiring Harness: Service and Repair
FUEL CHARGING WIRING HARNESSRemoval and Installation
1. With the vehicle in NEUTRAL, position it on a hoist.
2. Remove the intake manifold.
3. NOTE: One connector is shown, the other five are similar.
Disconnect the six fuel injector electrical connectors.
4. Remove the bolt.
5. Disconnect the ignition coil electrical connector.
6. Disconnect the radio interference capacitor electrical connector.
7. Disconnect the engine coolant temperature (ECT) sensor electrical connector and the water temperature indicator sender unit connector.
8. Disconnect the differential pressure feedback transducer electrical connector and the camshaft position (CMP) sensor electrical connector.
9. Remove the drive belt tensioner.
10. Disconnect the generator wiring and position the wiring aside.
11. Remove the generator mounting bracket and generator as an assembly.
1. Remove the bolt and the drive belt tensioner.
2. Remove the bolts and the generator bracket.
12. Disconnect the heated oxygen sensor (HO2S) electrical connector and release the pin-type retainer and the transmission line routing clip.
13. Remove the HO2S wiring anchor from the cover stud.
14. Detach the wiring harness retainer and disconnect the knock sensor.
15. Disconnect the crankshaft position (CKP) sensor electrical connector.
16. Remove the wiring anchors and position the wiring aside. Discard the anchors.
17. Disconnect the HO2S electrical connector from the RH side of the transmission and release the wiring pin-type retainer from the bracket.
18. Disconnect the electrical connector on the crossmember.
19. Disconnect the catalyst monitor sensor electrical connector.
20. Release the transmission/transfer case portion of the wiring harness from any routing clips or pushpins.
21. Route the transmission/transfer case portion of the wiring harness to the top of the engine.
22. Remove the wiring harness from the vehicle.
23. To install, reverse the removal procedure.
- Use new wiring anchors on the CKP wire extension.
