Removal and Installation
1. NOTE: Refer to Computers and Control Systems for correct Worldwide Diagnostic System (WDS) hook-up procedure.
If servicing the powertrain control module (PCM), connect the diagnostic tool to the vehicle. Allow the diagnostic tool to identify the vehicle and obtain configuration data.
- All programmable module information will automatically be retrieved by the WDS.
2. Disconnect the battery ground cable.
3. Remove the air cleaner assembly and air cleaner outlet tube.
4. Disconnect the 3 PCM electrical connectors.
5. Remove the 2 retaining nuts and PCM.
- To install, tighten to 7 Nm (62 lb-in).
6. To install, reverse the removal procedure.
