Coolant Pump - 4.6L (3V)

Removal and Installation
1. Drain the cooling system.
2. Remove the cooling fan.
3. Remove the accessory drive belt.
4. Remove the bolts and the coolant pump pulley.
^ To install, tighten to 25 Nm (18 ft. lbs.).

5. Remove the bolts and the coolant pump.
^ To install, tighten to 25 Nm (18 ft. lbs.).

6. Remove and discard the coolant pump O-ring.

7. CAUTION: Do not use metal scrapers, wire brushes, power abrasive discs or other abrasive means to clean the sealing surfaces. These tools cause scratches and gouges which make leak paths. Use a plastic scraping tool to remove all traces of the old O-ring.

Clean the mating surfaces with a plastic scraper, if necessary, and metal surface prep. Follow the directions on the packaging.
8. To install, reverse the removal procedure.
^ Install a new coolant pump O-ring. Lubricate the O-ring with clean engine coolant.
