Power Steering Pump Pulley

Power Steering Pump Pulley

Special Tool(s):





Removal
Vehicles with 6.0L engine
1. Remove the engine cooling fan.

All vehicles

2. NOTE: Vehicle with air conditioning shown, vehicle without air conditioning similar.

Rotate the accessory drive belt tensioner and remove the accessory drive belt from the power steering pump pulley.
^ For vehicles with air conditioning, rotate the tensioner clockwise.
^ For vehicles without air conditioning, rotate the tensioner counterclockwise.

Vehicles with 5.4L and 6.8L engine
3. With the vehicle in NEUTRAL, position it on a hoist.





All vehicles





4. Using the special tool, remove the pulley.
^ Inspect the pulley for paint marks in the web area near the hub. If there are 2 paint marks, discard the pulley. If there is no paint or 1 paint mark, use a paint pencil to mark the web area of the pulley near the hub.

Installation





All vehicles

1. CAUTION: Replacement of the power steering pump pulley is necessary after being removed and installed 2 times.

Using the special tool, install the power steering pump pulley.





2. NOTE: Vehicle with air conditioning shown, vehicle without air conditioning similar.

Rotate the accessory drive belt tensioner and install the accessory drive belt on the power steering pump pulley.
^ For vehicles with air conditioning, rotate the tensioner clockwise.
^ For vehicles without air conditioning, rotate the tensioner counterclockwise.

Vehicles with 6.0L engine
3. Install the engine cooling fan.
