Cylinder Head Bolts

New cylinder head bolts must be installed. They are a torque-to-yield design and cannot be reused.

RH Side:

LH Side:

First pass: 12-mm bolts 12 Nm (9 ft. lbs.)
Second pass: 12-mm bolts 25 Nm (18 ft. lbs.)
Third pass: 8-mm bolts 32 Nm (24 ft. lbs.)
Fourth pass: 12-mm bolts Tighten 90°
Final pass: 12-mm bolts Tighten 90°

Intake manifold bolts 10 Nm (89 inch lbs.)

Late build vehicles:

Early build vehicles:

Camshaft bearing cap bolts
First pass 6 Nm (53 inch lbs.)
Final pass 16 Nm (12 ft. lbs.)

Camshaft sprocket bolts 85 Nm (63 ft. lbs.)

Exhaust Manifold Studs & Nuts

Discard the studs and nuts.
