Pinpoint Test H: DTC C1187 - Brake Fluid Level Input Circuit OpenNormal Operation
The anti-lock brake system (ABS) module sends out a reference voltage to the brake fluid level switch along circuit 531 (DG/YE). This voltage is returned to the ABS module along circuit 512 (TN/LG) when the brake fluid is at the correct level or sent to ground along circuit 57 (BK) when the fluid goes below a certain level.
Possible Causes
^ Circuit open
^ Circuit shorted
^ Brake fluid level switch (integral to the brake fluid reservoir)
^ ABS module
