Windshield Washer Pump: Service and Repair
WINDSHIELD WASHER PUMP AND RESERVOIRRemoval and Installation
WARNING: Windshield washer fluid contains methanol, which is poisonous. Observe all cautions and warnings indicated on the label of the washer solution container. Failure to follow these instructions may result in personal injury.
NOTE: To prevent spilling windshield washer fluid, drain the windshield washer reservoir before removal.
1. Disconnect the windshield washer reservoir pump electrical connector.
2. Disconnect the wiring harness retainer.
3. Remove the air cleaner assembly.
4. NOTE: The windshield washer reservoir and the washer pump are serviced independently.
Remove the 2 reservoir bolts and 2 reservoir nuts.
- To install, tighten to 6 Nm (53 lb-in).
5. Remove the windshield washer reservoir-to-coolant reservoir stud.
6. Position the coolant reservoir aside.
7. Remove the windshield washer reservoir.
8. Disconnect the windshield washer hose from the windshield washer pump.
9. CAUTION: When removing the washer pump from the washer reservoir, be sure not to damage the rubber grommet.
Remove the washer pump from the washer reservoir.
10. To install, reverse the removal procedure.
