Normal Operation
The charging system warning indicator is controlled by the instrument cluster based upon data received from the generator through circuit 904 (LG/RD) if equipped with a single generator or from the powertrain control module (PCM) if equipped with dual generators. The instrument cluster sets DTC B1318 if battery voltage drops to less than 9 volts DC ±0.5 volt DC, when the ignition switch is in the START or RUN position.

Possible Causes
- Circuit 904 (LG/RD) open
- Generator
- Powertrain control module (PCM) (dual generator only)
- Instrument cluster
