Test Q: DTC C1446 - Brake Pedal Switch Circuit Failure

PINPOINT TEST Q: DTC C1446 - BRAKE PEDAL SWITCH CIRCUIT FAILURE
Refer to Vehicle/Diagrams, Vehicle Dynamic Systems for schematic and connector information.

Normal Operation
The anti-lock brake system (ABS) module receives brake pedal switch status from the powertrain control module (PCM) over the high speed communication area network (HS-CAN) bus. If there is a failure in the switch or the HS-CAN bus, diagnostic trouble code (DTC) C1446 will be set. A low fluid level condition in the master cylinder or a failure of the brake fluid level switch will also cause DTC C1446 to set.

Possible Causes
^ Circuit open
^ Low brake fluid
^ Brake fluid level switch
^ Brake pedal position switch
^ ABS module
^ Circuitry
