Door Lock Cylinder: Service and Repair
DOOR LOCK CYLINDERRemoval and Installation
NOTE: Individual lock cylinders are repaired by discarding the inoperative cylinder and building a new lock cylinder using the appropriate lock repair package. The lock repair package includes a detailed instruction sheet to build the new lock cylinder to the current key code of the vehicle.
1. Remove the exterior door handle.
2. Remove the door trim panel.
3. Remove the door window regulator and motor assembly.
4. Disconnect the door lock cylinder actuating rod.
5. Using a suitable tool, release the retaining tab and remove the front door lock cylinder.
6. To install, reverse the removal procedure.
