Removal and Installation
1. Remove the wheel and tire assembly.
2. CAUTION: Do not pry in the caliper sight hole to retract the pistons, as this can damage the pistons and boots.
CAUTION: Do not allow the brake caliper to hang from the brake hose or damage to the hose can occur.
Remove the 2 brake caliper guide pin bolts and position the caliper aside.
^ Support the caliper using mechanic's wire.
^ To install, tighten to 26 Nm (19 ft. lbs).
3. Remove the 2 brake pads, shims and slide clips. Inspect the brake pads for wear or contamination.
4. Remove the 2 brake caliper anchor plate bolts and the anchor plate.
^ To install, tighten to 55 Nm (41 ft. lbs).
5. NOTE: Make sure that the brake caliper hose is not twisted during caliper installation.
To install, reverse the removal procedure.
6. Test the brakes for normal operation.
