Transmission Fluid Drain and Refill
Transmission Fluid Drain and RefillMaterial:
1. With the vehicle in NEUTRAL, position it on a hoist. For additional information, refer to Maintenance/Service and Repair.
2. NOTE: If an internal problem is suspected, drain the transmission fluid through a paper filter. A small amount of metal or friction particles may be found from normal wear. If an excessive amount of metal or friction material is present, the transaxle will need to be overhauled.
Remove the transmission fluid drain plug and allow the transmission fluid to drain.
3. Install the transmission fluid drain plug.
^ Tighten to 9 Nm (80 inch lbs).
4. Fill the transaxle with clean automatic transmission fluid.
5. Start the engine, run through all the gears, check the fluid level and run the engine for 5 minutes. Repeat steps 2, 3 and 4.
6. Start the engine, run through all the gears and check the fluid level.
