PROCEDURES

This article supersedes TSB 07-5-2 to update the Service Procedure.

ISSUE
Some 2007 Edge or MKX vehicles equipped with a 6F50 transmission may experience a concern with the automatic transaxle. Replacing the transaxle assembly is no longer necessary to repair it for an internal transaxle concern. All internal parts are available. The repair procedures are published in Work Shop Manual (WSM) and all special service tools are at the dealer.

ACTION
Follow the Service Procedure for any transmission concern.

SERVICE PROCEDURE

Follow WSM, Section 307-01 procedures to diagnose and repair the transaxle.

If the solenoid body is replaced, use PDS or IDS to download the new solenoid body strategy into the PCM and perform the drive cycle as outlined in the WSM, Section 307-01 Solenoid Body Strategy Data Download.

WARRANTY STATUS: Eligible Under Provisions Of New Vehicle Limited Warranty Coverage
IMPORTANT: Warranty coverage limits/policies are not altered by a TSB. Warranty coverage limits are determined by the identified causal part.
