Normal Operation
Voltage is supplied to the DVD player at all times. A wake-up signal is sent to the DVD player by the audio unit through the medium speed controller area network (MS-CAN). When a video disc is inserted into the DVD player and the PLAY button is pressed, an image is displayed on the screen. Audio information from the DVD player is communicated to the audio unit through circuits VME17 (GN), RME17 (GY), VME18 (VT), and RME18 (YE).

In single-play mode, the audio unit plays the DVD audio on all speakers. In dual-play mode, the DVD player controls the rear speakers and the headphones.

- Circuit VME17 (GN) open, short to ground or voltage
- Circuit RME18 (YE) open, short to ground or voltage
