Test R: The Fog Lamps Are Inoperative
PINPOINT TEST R: THE FOG LAMPS ARE INOPERATIVER1-R5:
R5-R7:
Normal Operation
The fog lamps receive voltage from the fog lamp relay (when energized) through circuit 478 (TN/OG). When the fog lamp switch is engaged, voltage is routed to circuit 188 (WH/BK) which flows to the fog lamp relay coil. The fog lamp relay coil is grounded through the high beam circuit.
When the fog lamp relay is energized, the relay routes voltage from the central junction box (CJB) fuse 17 (15A) to circuit 478 (TN/OG) which supplies voltage to the fog lamps.
Possible Causes
- Fuse
- Open high beam circuit
- Circuit 188 (WH/BK) open
- Circuit 478 (TN/OG) open
- Fog lamp relay
- Headlamp switch
- CJB
