Transmission Selector Lever
Transmission Selector LeverMatrial:
Removal
1. Remove the floor console. For additional information, refer to Console.
2. Remove the selector lever cable from the selector.
1. Shift the selector lever to PARK.
2. Unclip the selector lever cable.
3. Unclip the selector lever cable outer sleeve.
3. Disconnect the selector lever assembly electrical connector.
4. Remove the selector lever assembly.
^ Remove the 4 nuts.
Installation
1. NOTE: Use thread sealant for the nuts.
Install the selector lever assembly.
^ Install the 4 nuts.
^ Tighten to 9 Nm (80 inch lbs.).
2. Connect the selector lever assembly electrical connector.
3. NOTE: The selector lever has its own detent mechanism. Holding the selector lever is not necessary.
NOTE: When installing the shift cable, make sure that the shift cable locking tabs are locked in place and the cable end is snapped onto the ball stud. Press the shift cable into the bracket and listen for the cable to click in place. Pull back on the shift cable to make sure that it is locked into the bracket. Also make sure that the shift cable end is correctly installed onto the ball stud. Pull back on the shift cable end to make sure that the cable end is correctly installed.
Install the selector cable to the selector lever.
1. Shift the selector lever to PARK.
2. Clip in the selector lever cable outer sleeve.
3. Clip in the selector lever cable.
4. Install the floor console. For additional information, refer to Console.
5. Adjust the selector lever cable. For additional information, refer to Selector Lever Cable Adjustment.
