PRINCIPLES OF OPERATION

Window Control
Voltage for the power windows is supplied from the central junction box (CJB) to the master window adjust switch when the ignition switch is in the START or RUN position. If the master window adjust switch is in the UNLOCK position, voltage is distributed to the passenger window adjust switch and the rear door window adjust switches (if equipped). If the master window adjust switch is in the LOCK position, the circuit is opened, preventing window operating control at any of the passenger doors. Ground circuits for all the window adjust switches are routed through the master window adjust switch. All windows can be opened and closed from the master window adjust switch regardless of window lock switch position.

One-Touch Down
The one-touch down function allows the driver door window glass to completely lower with one button press. When the one-touch down switch is pressed, voltage is supplied to the one-touch down relay. The one-touch down relay switch closes the ground circuit of the driver side window motor, lowering the window.

Heated Rear Window
The heated rear window control switch is part of the heater control module located in the instrument panel. When the heated rear window control switch is pressed, ground is provided to the rear window defrost relay coil. The rear window defrost relay supplies voltage to the rear window defrost grid and the LH and RH exterior rear view mirror defrost grids.
