Removal and Installation

NOTE: This procedure describes the removal and installation of all the transaxle cooling system tubes and hoses. Only disconnect those that require removal from the vehicle.

All vehicles
1. With the vehicle in NEUTRAL, position it on a hoist. For additional information, refer to Maintenance/Service and Repair.
2. Remove the retaining clip.





3. Disconnect the fluid cooler tube from the connector assembly.
^ Push the fluid cooler tube inward slightly, squeeze the retaining clip and with a slight twisting motion, pull the fluid cooler tube out of the connector assembly.





Vehicles equipped with a trailer towing package
4. Disconnect the transaxle cooling line from the left side of the oil-to-air (OTA) fluid cooler.





5. Disconnect the transaxle cooling line from the right side of the OTA fluid cooler.





All vehicles
6. Remove the cooler tubes from the retaining clips.
7. Remove the retaining clip at the integral fluid cooler outlet tube.





8. Using the special tool, disconnect the fluid cooler outlet tube from the integral fluid cooler.





9. Lower the vehicle to gain access to the fluid cooler inlet tube.
10. Remove the retaining clip.





11. Using the special tool, disconnect the fluid cooler inlet tube from the integral fluid cooler.





12. To install, reverse the removal procedure.
^ Listen for a clicking sound when connecting the fluid cooler tubes to the radiator and the transaxle. Verify the connection by pulling back on the fitting.
^ Fill the transaxle with automatic transaxle fluid as needed.
