Removal
1. Remove the oil pan.
2. Remove the 7 nuts and the oil pan baffle.
3. CAUTION: The connecting rod bearing caps and the connecting rods are a matched set. Installing the incorrect connecting rod bearing cap on a connecting rod may result in engine damage.
Remove the 2 nuts and the connecting rod bearing cap.
4. Lift the piston slightly and remove the connecting rod bearings.
Installation
1. The connecting rod bearings are precision fit.
2. CAUTION: The connecting rod bearings must be lubricated with clean engine oil prior to installation or damage to the connecting rod bearing may occur.
Install the connecting rod bearings.
3. CAUTION: Bearing caps are directional and must be installed exactly as they were removed.
Install the connecting rod bearing cap and 2 nuts.
^ Tighten to 35 Nm (26 ft. lbs).
4. Repeat the procedure until all the connecting rod bearings are installed.
5. Install the oil pan baffle and 7 nuts.
^ Tighten to 32 Nm (24 ft. lbs).
6. Install the oil pan.
