Removal and Installation
1. With the vehicle in NEUTRAL, position it on a hoist.
2. Disconnect the battery.
3. Remove the bolt and position the battery cable body ground terminal aside.
- To install, tighten to 12 Nm (9 lb-ft).
4. Disconnect the battery cable connector near the radiator support.
5. If equipped, disconnect the A/C cut-off switch connector.
6. Release the 3 battery cable locators from the battery tray and fender.
7. Remove the BJB cover, remove the 2 nuts and position the BJB terminal aside.
- To install, tighten to 12 Nm (9 lb-ft).
8. Disconnect the battery cable connector on the fender well.
9. If equipped, disconnect the A/C compressor electrical connector.
10. Remove the 2 battery cable locators from the A/C compressor.
11. Remove the nut and position the battery cable engine bracket aside.
- To install, tighten to 25 Nm (18 lb-ft).
12. Remove the nut and position the battery cable engine ground terminal aside
- To install, tighten to 27 Nm (20 lb-ft).
13. Remove the starter solenoid terminal cover.
14. Remove the nut and position the battery cable starter solenoid terminal aside.
- To install, tighten to 12 Nm (9 lb-ft).
15. Remove the nut and position the battery cable starter solenoid wire terminal aside.
- To install, tighten to 5 Nm (44 lb-in).
16. Release the battery cable locator from the generator bracket.
17. Disconnect the 2 generator electrical connectors.
18. Position the generator B+ protective cover aside, remove the nut and position the battery cable generator B+ terminal aside.
- To install, tighten to 8 Nm (71 lb-in).
19. Remove the battery cable.
20. To install, reverse the removal procedure.
