Disassembly

WARNING:
- The safety belt pretensioner is a pyrotechnic device. Always wear safety glasses when repairing an air bag equipped vehicle and when handling a safety belt buckle pretensioner or safety belt retractor pretensioner. Never probe a pretensioner electrical connector. Doing so could result in pretensioner or air bag deployment and could result in personal injury.
- To reduce the risk of personal injury, do not use any memory saver devices.


NOTE:
- If a seat equipped with a supplemental restraint system (SRS) component is being serviced, the SRS must be depowered.
- The air bag warning lamp illuminates when the restraints control module (RCM) fuse is removed and the ignition switch is ON. This is normal operation and does not indicate a SRS fault.
- The SRS must be fully operational and free of faults before releasing the vehicle to the customer.

1. Depower the supplemental restraint system (SRS).
2. Remove the affected seat.
3. Remove the armrest.
4. Remove the backrest assembly.
5. Remove the seat track.
6. Remove the 2 screws and seat track position sensor from the seat track.







7. Release the remaining trim cover J-clips.







8. NOTE: Note the routing of the seat back latch release cable through the seat cushion frame.

Release the pin-type retainer and remove the seat backrest latch release cable.

9. Remove the seat cushion frame from the seat cushion foam pad.







10. Remove the rows of hog rings and remove the seat cushion trim cover.

Assembly







1. Position the cushion trim cover to the foam pad and install the rows of hog rings.
2. Install the foam pad and trim cover to the seat cushion frame.







3. Route the seat backrest latch release cable through the cushion frame and install the pin-type retainer.







4. Fasten the trim cover J-clip.
5. Install the seat track position sensor and 2.screws to the seat track.
6. Install the seat track.
7. Install the backrest assembly.
8. Install the armrest.
9. Install the affected seat.
10. Repower the SRS.
