Front Suspension
Front SuspensionThe front system suspension utilizes an upper and lower arm and is an independent suspension design. This type of suspension uses 2 parallel arms. Each arm has 2 mounting positions to the chassis and one ball joint attachment at the wheel knuckle. The shock absorber mounts to the lower arm and along with the spring, controls vertical movement. A stabilizer bar and links are included to control suspension lean/sway during turns. Double-arm designs allow for carefully controlled motion of the wheel throughout suspension travel, controlling such parameters as camber angle, caster angle and toe.
The front suspension system consists of the following:
^ Upper arms
^ Lower arms
^ Wheel knuckle
^ Wheel bearing and wheel hub assembly
^ Stabilizer bar and links
^ Shock absorber and spring assembly
