Instrument Cluster and Panel Illumination

INSTRUMENT CLUSTER AND PANEL ILLUMINATION

NOTE: The smart junction box (SJB) is also known as the generic electronic module (GEM).

The instrument cluster and panel illumination is used to provide backlighting to the instrument panel, switches, and control components when the headlamp switch is in either the PARKING LAMPS ON or HEADLAMPS ON position, or the headlamp switch is in the AUTOLAMPS ON position and the ambient light sensor status senses or equals night. The level of intensity is adjustable by rotating the instrument panel dimmer switch either up to increase intensity or down to decrease intensity.

The instrument cluster and panel illumination system consists of both dimmable and non-dimmable (fixed) illumination sources. The instrument cluster and panel illumination is used to provide backlighting to the instrument panel, switches, and control components when the parking lamps are on.

- Audio unit
- Adjustable pedal switch (if equipped)
