Engine Dynamic Balance Shaft

Material:

Removal

1. NOTE: It is not necessary to remove the timing chain tensioner.

Remove the timing drive components.
2. Remove the engine dynamic balance shaft drive gear.
3. Remove the bolts and the engine dynamic balance shaft.

Installation
1. Lubricate the engine dynamic balance shaft with clean engine oil and install it in the engine block.
2. Install the bolts.
^ Tighten to 11 Nm (8 lb-ft).
3. Make sure the engine dynamic balance shaft Woodruff key is at the 12 o'clock position and the camshaft Woodruff key is at the 6 o'clock position.
4. Install the engine dynamic balance shaft drive gear on the camshaft. Make sure the timing marks on the drive gear and driven gear are lined up.





5. Install the timing drive components.
