Antenna
AM/FM Antenna
The vehicle is equipped with a fixed-mast AM/FM antenna. The antenna cable connects the AM/FM antenna to the audio control module (ACM).
Satellite Antenna
The satellite antenna is located at the top-right of the roof panel. The satellite antenna cable connects the satellite antenna to the satellite digital audio receiver system (SDARS) module, located beneath the ACM.
DVD Entertainment System
The DVD entertainment system is available with all the audio system (Super Crew) except the base AM/FM system. The DVD entertainment system utilizes a rear entertainment module (RETM), which is enabled when the key is in the RUN or ACC position and the audio system is turned on. The rear speakers are controlled by the RETM.
Audio signals pass through the RETM to the rear speakers. These signals are interrupted and the rear speakers are disabled when the RETM is placed in dual-play mode. In this mode, the RETM can play independently of the ACM, through headphones, while allowing front passengers to listen to the ACM audio through the front speakers.
Additionally, while in this mode, some audio system controls can be accessed through the RETM. This mode is entered by pressing the AUX button on the ACM or by pressing the headphone button on the RETM. Pressing the headphone button on the RETM exits this mode.
Navigation System
The navigation system is integral to the ACM. The ACM controls the operation of the navigation system and the audio system. The system uses a global positioning system (GPS) antenna, a vehicle speed input, and other sensor information to accurately establish the vehicle position. The ACM provides the visual and audible instructions of the maneuvers required to arrive at the pre-entered destination. An audible switch feedback is provided to confirm if an ACM button or a screen button is pressed. The audible switch feedback can be set to ALL, TOUCH SCREEN, or NONE, depending on user preference.
