Test D: The Memory Mirror Is Inoperative
PINPOINT TEST D: THE MEMORY MIRROR IS INOPERATIVENormal Operation
Under normal operation, the exterior mirror control switch receives power from circuit 956 (OG/LG) and ground from circuit 57 (BK). The exterior mirror control switch sends input to the driver seat module (DSM) for the LH exterior mirror by switching power and ground to circuits 1476 (RD/OG), 1477 (YE/BK) and 1479 (DB/OG) and for the RH exterior mirror by switching power and ground to the DSM through circuits 1475 (PK/OG), 1477 (YE/BK) and 1478 (DG/OG). The DSM will supply the appropriate power and ground to the LH exterior mirror motor up/down circuits 1486 (YE/LB), 1487 (DB) and left/right circuits 1484 (YE/RD), 1485 (RD) or the RH exterior mirror motor up/down circuits 1482 (PK), 1483 (WH/PK) and left/right circuits 1480 (WH/LG), 1481 (DG).
The DSM supplies the LH and RH exterior mirror feedback potentiometer reference voltage through circuit 958 (GY/RD) and ground through circuit 955 (GY). The DSM receives feedback from the LH exterior mirror feedback potentiometer through circuit (left/right) 949 (RD/WH) and circuit (up/down) 951 (DB/WH). The DSM receives feedback from the RH exterior mirror feedback potentiometer through circuit (left/right) 954 (DG/WH) and circuit (up/down) 957 (VT/WH).
This pinpoint test is intended to diagnose the following:
- Fuse
- Wiring, terminals or connectors
- Exterior mirror control switch
- Exterior mirror motor
- Exterior mirror
- DSM
