ROOF OPENING PANEL

The roof opening panel system consists of:
- Roof opening panel air deflector
- Roof opening panel control switch
- Roof opening panel drain hose
- Roof opening panel frame
- Roof opening panel glass
- Roof opening panel motor/module
- Roof opening panel rear trough guide
- Roof opening panel shield
- Roof opening panel trough
- Roof opening panel weatherstrip

The roof opening panel assembly uses an integrated motor and module to operate the roof opening panel. A new roof opening panel motor and module are installed as an assembly. The roof opening panel is an electronically operated glass panel that can be opened or closed by the roof opening panel switch. Actuating the switch in either a forward or rearward motion supplies a ground to the roof opening panel motor/module. The VENT and soft STOP functions are controlled by the roof opening panel motor/module. The roof opening panel has one-touch OPEN and one-touch CLOSE features activated when the switch is pressed momentarily. These functions are controlled by the roof opening panel motor/module.

When an obstacle has been detected in the roof opening panel as the sliding glass is closing, the roof opening panel will automatically open and stop at a predetermined position. To override obstacle detection, press and hold the close switch within 2 seconds of the initial glass reversal. The glass will operate in manual mode with bounce back detection turned off. After 2 seconds, bounce back mode will be reactivated.

A new roof opening panel motor will only open and must be initialized. The roof opening panel motor initialization procedure must be done when repairs are carried out on any part of the roof opening panel system, including: any time the roof opening panel motor has been removed from the roof opening panel assembly, a new roof opening panel motor has been installed or when a new roof opening panel assembly has been installed.
