Test A: The Power Seat Is Inoperative
PINPOINT TEST A: THE POWER SEAT IS INOPERATIVENormal Operation
The seats are powered by battery voltage to the driver seat control switch, circuit 566 (DG) or passenger seat control switch, circuit 1462 (RD/WH) and are both grounded by circuit 57 (BK). When pressed, a seat control switch supplies voltage and ground to the seat track motor(s) to move the seats. When pressed in the opposite direction, the seat control switch reverses the polarity to the respective seat track motor(s) to move the seat in the opposite direction.
This pinpoint test is intended to diagnose the following:
- Fuse
- Wiring, terminals or connectors
- Seat control switch
