PINPOINT TEST A: THE CONTROL ILLUMINATION IS INOPERATIVENormal Operation
With the parking lamps on, voltage is supplied to the dimmer switch through circuit 14 (BN). The dimmer switch then sends a variable pulse-width modulated (PWM) voltage to the dimmable backlighting components through circuit 19 (LB/RD). Ground is supplied to the dimmer switch through circuit 57 (BK).
This pinpoint test is intended to diagnose the following:
- Fuse
- Wiring, terminals or connectors
- Headlamp switch
