PINPOINT TEST E: THE STEERING WHEEL CONTROL SWITCH ILLUMINATION SOURCE IS INOPERATIVENormal Operation
Variable pulse-width modulated (PWM) voltage is supplied to the steering wheel audio and climate control switches and the speed control switches through circuit 1011 (TN/OG). Ground is supplied to the steering wheel control switch from the PCM through circuit 848 (DG/OG).
This pinpoint test is intended to diagnose the following:
- Fuse
- Wiring, terminals or connectors
- Clockspring
- Steering wheel audio and climate control switches
- Speed control switches
- Steering wheel control switch harness
