All vehicles
1. Install a new transfer case-to-transmission gasket.
2. Position the transfer case to the transmission. Install the 6 transfer case-to-transmission bolts.
^ Tighten the transmission-to-transfer case bolts evenly in a star pattern.
^ Tighten to 47 Nm (35 lb-ft).
3. Connect the vent tube.
Mechanical shift vehicles
4. Connect the shift linkage to the shift bracket.
5. Connect the transfer case wire harness.
Electronic shift vehicles
6. Connect the transfer case shift motor electrical connector.
7. Connect the transfer case shift motor wiring harness to the transfer case.
All Vehicles
8. Fill the transfer case.
9. Install the skid plate and the 4 skid plate bolts, if equipped.
^ Tighten to 18 Nm (13 lb-ft).
10. NOTE: Align the index marks made during removal.
Install the rear driveshaft.
11. NOTE: Align the index marks made during removal.
Install the front driveshaft.
