Test H: The Video System Does Not Operate Correctly - No Audio
PINPOINT TEST H: THE VIDEO SYSTEM DOES NOT OPERATE CORRECTLY - NO AUDIONormal Operation
The rear entertainment module (RETM) routes audio signals to the audio control module (ACM). In single-play mode, the ACM plays the DVD audio on all speakers. In dual-play mode, the RETM controls the rear speakers and the headphones.
DTC U0184 (Lost Communication With Radio [ACM]) - sets in the RETM when it is missing messages from the ACM for greater than 5 seconds. This results in loss of DVD audio (and satellite audio, if equipped), although the video screen should still operate.
DTC U0196 (Lost Communication With Entertainment Control Module - Rear [AUX]) - sets in the ACM when it is missing messages from the RETM for greater than 5 seconds. This results in loss of DVD audio (and satellite audio, if equipped), although the video screen should still operate.
This pinpoint test is intended to diagnose the following:
- Wiring, terminals or connectors
- RETM
- ACM
