Removal and Installation
1. Remove the front seat.
2. Release the hook-and-loop strip on the cushion trim cover flap at the RH rear of the seat.
3. NOTE: Pin-type retainer not shown.
Release the RH J-clip and pin-type retainer.
4. Release the latch cable from the RH side.
1 Release the cable anchor.
2 Swivel the cable end and separate.
5. Remove the RH recliner-to-cushion frame bolts.
- To install, tighten to 50 Nm (37 lb-ft).
6. Release the hook-and-loop strip on the cushion trim cover flap at the LH rear of the seat.
7. Release the LH J-clip.
8. Release the latch cable from the LH side.
1 Release the cable anchor.
2 Swivel the cable end and separate.
9. Remove the screw and recliner handle cover.
10. Remove the LH recliner-to-cushion frame bolts, slide the backrest assembly rearward and remove the backrest assembly.
- To install, tighten to 50 Nm (37 lb-ft).
11. To install, reverse the removal procedure.
12. Install the front seat.
13. Prove out the SRS as follows:
Turn the ignition switch ON. Visually monitor the air bag warning indicator. The air bag warning indicator will light continuously for approximately 6 seconds and then turn OFF. If an air bag SRS fault is present, the air bag warning indicator will:
- fail to light.
- remain lit continuously.
The air bag warning indicator might not light until approximately 30 seconds after the ignition switch has been turned from the OFF to the ON position. This is the time required for the RCM to complete the testing of the SRS. If the air bag warning indicator is inoperative and a SRS fault exists, a chime will sound in a pattern of 5 sets of 5 beeps. If this occurs, the air bag warning indicator and any SRS fault discovered must be diagnosed and repaired.
Clear all continuous DTCs from the RCM using a scan tool.
