Operation CHARM: Car repair manuals for everyone.

Test A: The Instrument Cluster (IC) Is Inoperative

PINPOINT TEST A: THE INSTRUMENT CLUSTER (IC) IS INOPERATIVE

Normal Operation
With the ignition switch in the START or RUN position, the instrument cluster (IC) receives voltage from the smart junction box (SJB) through circuit CBP29 (WH/VT). With the ignition switch in the OFF position, the instrument cluster (IC) receives its keep-alive memory (KAM) voltage from the SJB through circuit SBP26 (YE/RD). The instrument cluster (IC) grounding is through circuit GD134 (BK/VT). The instrument cluster (IC) sets DTC U2472 in continuous memory and on-demand if the RUN/START input, circuit CBP29 (WH/VT), is open or if the SJB fuse 29 (5A) has failed.

This pinpoint test is intended to diagnose the following:
- Fuse(s)
- Wiring, terminals or connectors
- Instrument cluster (IC)
