Test G: The Satellite Audio Is Inoperative/Does Not Operate Correctly

PINPOINT TEST G: THE SATELLITE AUDIO IS INOPERATIVE/DOES NOT OPERATE CORRECTLY

Normal Operation
The satellite radio receiver receives voltage (at all times) through circuit SBP12 (GN/RD), and ground through circuit GD103 (BK/BU). Digital signals are received by the satellite antenna and sent to the satellite radio receiver, which then provides audio signals to the audio unit through circuits RME41 (BU/BN), RME42 (YE/BU), VME41 (GN/OG), and VME42 (VT/BN).

The satellite radio receiver receives a wake-up signal from the audio unit through the medium-speed controller area network (MS-CAN), on circuits VDB06 (GY/OG) and VDB07 (VT/OG). The MS-CAN is dedicated to only the audio unit and the satellite radio receiver. In the event of a network failure, the satellite radio receiver will never receive the wake-up signal and as a result, will be inoperative.

U0184 (Lost Communication With Radio [ACM]) - sets when the satellite radio receiver does not detect the audio unit on the MS-CAN for greater than 5 seconds.

This pinpoint test is intended to diagnose the following:
- Wiring, terminals or connectors
- Satellite radio receiver
- Audio unit
