SEAT BACKREST - FRONT, 60 PERCENTDisassembly
WARNING: Never probe the electrical connectors on safety belt buckle/retractor pretensioners or adaptive load limiting retractors. Failure to follow this instruction may result in the accidental deployment of the safety belt pretensioners or adaptive load limiting retractors, which increases the risk of serious personal injury or death.
NOTE:
- The air bag warning indicator illuminates when the restraints control module (RCM) fuse is removed and the ignition switch is ON. This is normal operation and does not indicate a supplemental restraint system (SRS) fault.
- The SRS must be fully operational and free of faults before releasing the vehicle to the customer.
1. Remove the affected seat.
2. Remove the 60 percent armrest.
3. Remove the 60 percent seat backrest assembly.
4. Release the backrest J-clip.
5. CAUTION: Use care when separating the seat back trim cover from the hook-and-loop strips or the hook-and-loop strips may be torn from the seat back foam.
Invert the backrest trim cover and release the hook-and-loop strips.
6. Remove all the hog rings and remove the backrest trim cover from the backrest foam pad.
7. Lift the lower end of the backrest foam pad off the backrest frame.
8. Slide the backrest frame down and out of the backrest foam pad headrest pocket.
Assembly
1. Slide the backrest frame into the backrest foam pad.
2. Install the lower end of the backrest foam pad on the backrest frame.
3. Install the backrest trim cover and install all of the hog rings.
4. Pull the backrest trim cover down and secure the hook-and-loop strips to the backrest foam pad.
5. Attach the backrest J-clip.
6. Install the 60 percent seat backrest assembly.
7. Install the 60 percent armrest.
8. Install the affected seat.
