Test M: The Parking, Rear and License Plate Lamps Are Always On

PINPOINT TEST M: THE PARKING, REAR AND LICENSE PLATE LAMPS ARE ALWAYS ON

Normal Operation
The parking lamp relay is integral to, and controlled by, the smart junction box (SJB). When the headlamp switch is placed in the PARKING LAMPS ON position, the headlamp switch routes voltage to the SJB through circuit CLS30 (VT/WH). When the SJB receives the voltage signal from the headlamp switch, the parking lamp relay coil is energized and voltage is routed to the parking lamps through circuit CLS34 (GY), the trailer tow connector through circuit CAT17 (BN/WH) and the instrument panel dimmer switch through circuit CBP01 (BU).

This pinpoint test is intended to diagnose the following:
- Wiring, terminals or connectors
- Headlamp switch
- SJB
