System Specifications

CAUTION: To avoid damage to the timing chain cassette, an assistant will be required to help position the cylinder head in the vehicle.

NOTE: New cylinder head bolts must be installed. They are a torque-to-yield design and cannot be reused.

RH side cylinder head:
8 new 12-mm bolts:
Stage 1 12 Nm (9 lb-ft)
Stage 2 25 Nm (18 lb-ft)





2 new 8-mm bolts 32 Nm (24 lb-ft)





eight 12-mm bolts:
Stage 1 90 degrees
Stage 2 additional 90 degrees





LH side cylinder head:
8 new 12-mm bolts:
Stage 1 12 Nm (9 lb-ft)
Stage 2 25 Nm (18 lb-ft)





2 new 8-mm bolts 32 Nm (24 lb-ft)





eight 12-mm bolts:
Stage 1 90 degrees
Stage 2 additional 90 degrees





Head gasket surface flatness 0.1 mm (0.004 in) overall

Intake Manifold Bolts 10 Nm (89 lb-in)

Camshaft bearing caps bolts:
Stage 1 6 Nm (53 lb-inch)
Stage 2 16 Nm (12 lb-ft)





Camshaft bolt 85 Nm (63 lb-ft)

LH exhaust manifold:
6 new studs 12 Nm (9 lb-ft)
new nuts 22 Nm (16 lb-ft)

RH exhaust manifold:
6 new studs 12 Nm (9 lb-ft)
new nuts 22 Nm (16 lb-ft)
