Transfer Case Shift Motor








Removal and Installation
1. Set the mode select switch (MSS) to the 4x4 HIGH position.





2. With the vehicle in NEUTRAL, position it on a hoist.
3. Disconnect the transfer case shift motor electrical connector.





4. Remove the bracket bolt and the 3 transfer case shift motor bolts, then remove the transfer case shift motor.
^ To install, tighten to 10 Nm (89 lb-inch).

5. Remove the grease from the motor adapter and check for any nicks or burrs. If any damage is found, repair or install a new transfer case shift motor as necessary.
6. To install, reverse the removal procedure.
^ Apply a thin coat of silicone sealant to the transfer case shift motor housing base.
