Pinpoint Test N: The Safety Belt Warning Indicator Is Never/Always On

Normal Operation

The Restraints Control Module (RCM) monitors the safety belt position through the safety belt buckle switch. The RCM provides the safety belt buckle status to the IC over the High Speed Controller Area Network (HS-CAN) communication bus. If the IC does not receive the safety belt buckle switch status from the RCM or the message is deemed invalid by the IC for greater than 5 seconds, the IC sets DTC U0151 and defaults the safety belt warning indicator off.

This pinpoint test is intended to diagnose the following:

- RCM
- IC
