Instrument Cluster (IC)
Removal
NOTE: Prior to removal of the Instrument Cluster (IC), it is necessary to download the IC configuration information to the diagnostic tool.
1. Depower the Supplemental Restraint System (SRS). For additional information, refer to Air Bag Systems.
2. Lower the tilt steering column to the lowest position.
3. Remove the instrument cluster finish panel.
4. Remove the 4 screws and the IC.
- Disconnect the electrical connector.
Installation
1. Position the IC in the instrument panel, connect the electrical connector and install the screws.
2. Install the instrument cluster finish panel.
3. Repower the SRS. For additional information, refer to Air Bag Systems.
4. Following installation of the IC, download the module configuration information and the Vehicle Identification Number (VIN) from the scan tool into the new IC.
5. NOTE: If the IC is installed new, updated, or re-configured, the IC requires a parameter reset to allow the IC and the PCM to recognize the Passive Anti-Theft System (PATS) keys. Failure to carry out the parameter reset to the Instrument Cluster (IC) may result in a no start condition.
