Removal and Installation
Both fenders
1. If equipped, remove the wheelhouse lip moulding nuts (4 each side).
2. Remove the headlamp assembly.
RH fender
3. Remove the antenna cable.
Both fenders
4. Remove the fender splash shield. For additional information, refer to Fender Splash Shield Fender Splash Shield.
5. Remove the front bumper cover-to-fender bolts (3 each side).
6. Remove the fender support brace-to-frame bar bolts (1 each side).
7. Remove the bumper cover-to-fender support brace bolts (1 each side).
8. Remove the upper A-pillar fender bolt.
- To install, tighten to 9 Nm (80 lb-in).
9. NOTE: It will be necessary to remove the rear expandable foam baffle pushpins and position the foam baffle aside to gain access to the middle A-pillar fender bolt.
Remove the rear expandable foam baffle pushpin retainers.
10. NOTE: If expandable foam sealant has been used between the rear expandable foam baffle and the cowling, carefully cut the foam sealant to remove the rear expandable foam baffle from the cowling.
NOTE: If installing a new fender, the rear expandable foam baffle will be part of the new fender assembly. Use a locally obtained flexible foam repair expandable foam sealant only if the rear foam baffle does not correctly seal the space between the rear expandable foam baffle and the cowling. If reusing an existing fender, use a locally obtained flexible foam repair expandable foam sealant to seal the area between the rear expandable foam baffle and the cowling.
Remove the rear expandable foam baffle.
11. Remove the middle A-pillar fender bolt.
- To install, tighten to 9 Nm (80 lb-in).
12. If equipped, remove the fender lower trim cover pushpins (2 each side).
13. Remove the lower fender bolts (2 each side).
- To install, tighten to 9 Nm (80 lb-in).
14. Remove the top fender bolts.
- To install, tighten to 9 Nm (80 lb-in).
15. Remove the fender.
16. To install, reverse the removal procedure.
