Pinpoint Test R: The SYNC System Is Completely Inoperative
Normal Operation
When a button on the Front Controls Interface Module (FCIM) is pressed, a network message is sent to the APIM via the Medium Speed Controller Area Network (MS-CAN). The APIM takes the appropriate action and sends a status message to the Front Display Interface Module (FDIM) (vehicles without navigation) or the Audio Control Module (ACM) (vehicles with navigation) in order to update the display screen.
This pinpoint test is intended to diagnose the following:
- Audio system concern
- Communication network concern
- Customer error
- Customer device
