Radiator Grille Support
Removal and Installation
1. Remove the front bumper.
2. Remove the headlamps.
3. Remove the front radiator grille LH and RH side air deflector pushpins and air deflectors.
4. Release the ambient air temperature sensor and harness clips and position the sensor and harness aside.
5. Remove the LH and RH front impact severity sensors and harness and position aside. For additional information, refer to Air Bag Systems.
6. Remove the top 2 air box intake screws.
- To install, tighten to 5 Nm (44 lb-in).
7. Disconnect the hood security switch harness and position the harness aside.
8. Disconnect the hood release cable from the hood latch assembly and position the cable aside.
9. Disconnect the wiring harness from the top of the radiator grille support.
10. Remove the power steering cooler bolts.
- To install, tighten to 10 Nm (89 lb-in).
11. Release the pushpins retaining the power steering cooler lines located on the side of the radiator grille support. Lower and secure the cooler to allow clearance for removal of the radiator grille support.
12. Release the cooling module retainers from the radiator grille support.
13. Remove the 6 radiator grille support bolts (3 each side). Remove the support.
- To install, tighten to 20 Nm (177 lb-in).
14. NOTICE: Inspect and transfer all of the radiator grille support insulters. Replace as necessary.
NOTICE: When installing the cooling module retaining clips, push the cooling module retaining clips toward the radiator grille support until the clips are properly secured and a snap is heard. Failure to properly secure the cooling module retaining clips may cause damage to the radiator or the cooling module assembly.
To install, reverse the removal procedure.
- Transfer all necessary components.
