Pinpoint Test G: The Driver Window Control Switch Illumination is Inoperative

Refer to Wiring Diagram Set 100, Power Windows for schematic and connector information. Diagrams By Number

Normal Operation

When the accessory delay relay energizes, voltage is supplied to the door lock control switches through circuit CBB38 (GY/BU), turning on the switch illumination. Switch illumination is grounded through circuit GD133 (BK).

This pinpoint test is intended to diagnose the following:

- Wiring, terminals or connectors
- Driver window control switch
- Smart Junction Box (SJB)



PINPOINT TEST G: THE DRIVER WINDOW CONTROL SWITCH ILLUMINATION IS INOPERATIVE

NOTICE: Use the correct probe adapter(s) when making measurements. Failure to use the correct probe adapter(s) may damage the connector.

NOTE: Failure to disconnect the battery when instructed will result in false resistance readings. Refer to Battery.

G1 CHECK THE OPERATION OF THE DRIVER WINDOW CONTROL SWITCH


- Operate the window control switch from the driver window control switch.
- Do the windows operate?

Yes
GO to G2.

No
REFER to Windows to continue diagnosis of the power window.

G2 CHECK CIRCUIT GD133 (BK) FOR AN OPEN


- Disconnect: Negative Battery Cable.
- Disconnect: Driver Window Control Switch C504.
- Measure the resistance between the driver window control switch C504-15, circuit GD133 (BK), harness side and ground.




- Is the resistance less than 5 ohms?

Yes
INSTALL a new driver window control switch. TEST the system for normal operation.

No
REPAIR the circuit. TEST the system for normal operation.
