Partial Zero Emissions Vehicle (PZEV)

1. With the vehicle in NEUTRAL, position it on a hoist.

2. Remove the intake air resonator. For additional information, refer to Intake Air Resonator Service and Repair.

3. Remove the Mass Air Flow (MAF) sensor pipe bracket-to-frame bolt.
- To install, tighten to 12 Nm (106 lb-in).

4. Disconnect the MAF electrical connector.

5. Remove LH fender well splash shield.

6. Remove the air inlet pipe bolt.
- To install, tighten to 9 Nm (80 lb-in).

7. Loosen the clamp and remove the Air Cleaner (ACL) inlet pipe.
- To install, tighten to 4 Nm (35 lb-in).

8. Remove the rearward ACL-to-frame bolt.
- To install, tighten to 9 Nm (80 lb-in).

9. Remove the forward ACL-to-frame bolt.
- Remove the ACL and the MAF sensor pipe as an assembly.

- To install, tighten to 9 Nm (80 lb-in).

10. NOTE: The lower MAF sensor pipe screen may come loose and be attached to the ACL elbow upon separation. Make sure to inspect and reattach the pipe screen to the MAF sensor pipe as necessary.

Loosen the clamp and separate the MAF sensor pipe from the ACL.
- To install, tighten to 4 Nm (35 lb-in).

Non-PZEV

11. Disconnect the MAF electrical connector.

12. Loosen the clamp and separate the ACL outlet pipe from the ACL assembly.
- To install, tighten to 3 Nm (27 lb-in).

13. Remove the 2 bolts and the ACL assembly.
- To install, tighten to 9 Nm (80 lb-in).

All vehicles

14. To install, reverse the removal procedure.
