This article supersedes TSB 10-2-12 to update the vehicle model years.
ISSUE
Some 2009-2011 Focus vehicles may exhibit the front center console lid contacting the driver seat back when opening or closing the lid. This may be most noticeable when the driver seat is in a forward position, and is likely due to a mispositioned center console rear bracket where it is welded to the floor pan.
ACTION
Follow the Service Procedure steps to correct the condition.
SERVICE PROCEDURE
1. Place driver seat in position where contact with console lid is most noticeable.
2. Apply moderate pressure to the driver side of the center console. Push console towards the passenger seat until console lid is no longer contacting the seat back, and is centered between the driver and passenger seats when pressure is released.
