PINPOINT TEST D: THE BRAKE SHIFT INTERLOCK SYSTEM DOES NOT RELEASE/LOCK CORRECTLY
NOTE: Perform a thorough inspection of the selector lever cable before proceeding with this pinpoint test.

D1 TEST THE BRAKE LIGHTS
- Apply the brake pedal and view the brake lights.
- Do the brake lights illuminate?
Yes
GO to D2.
No
GO to Lighting and Horns.

D2 TEST SJB FUSE 5 (10A)
- Check fuse: Smart Junction Box (SJB) 5 (10A) .
- Is the resistance less than 5 ohms?
Yes
GO to D4.
No
GO to D3.

D3 TEST CIRCUIT CET53 (BU/OG) FOR A SHORT TO GROUND
- Disconnect: Brake Shift Interlock Actuator (BSIA) C2127 .
- Disconnect: SJB C2280C .
- Check to make sure the Brake Shift Interlock Actuator (BSIA) C2127 and SJB
C2280C are fully seated, the terminals are fully engaged in the connectors and are in good condition before proceeding.
- Measure the resistance between BSIA C2008-3, circuit CET53 (BU/OG), harness side and ground.
- Is the resistance greater than 10,000 ohms?
Yes
GO to D4.
No
REPAIR circuit CET53 (BU/OG) for a short to ground. CLEAR the DTCs. TEST the system for normal operation.

D4 TEST CIRCUIT CET53 (BU/OG) FOR AN OPEN
- Measure the resistance between BSIA C2127-3, circuit CET53 (BU/OG) and SJB C2280C-23, circuit CET53 (BU/OG), harness side.
- Is the resistance less than 5 ohms?
Yes
GO to D5.
No
REPAIR circuit CET53 (BU/OG) for an open. CLEAR the DTCs. TEST the system for normal operation.

D5 TEST CIRCUIT GD114 (BK/BU) FOR AN OPEN
- Measure the resistance between BSIA C2127-1, circuit GD114 (BK/BU), harness side and ground.
- Is the resistance less than 5 ohms?
Yes
GO to D6.
No
REPAIR circuit GD114 (BK/BU) for an open. CLEAR the DTCs. TEST the system for normal operation.

D6 TEST CIRCUIT CET53 (BU/OG) FOR VOLTAGE
- Connect: SJB C2280C .
- Ignition ON.
- Measure the voltage between BSIA C2127-3, circuit CET53 (BU/OG), harness side and ground, while applying the brake pedal.
- Is the voltage greater than 10 volts with the brake pedal applied?
Yes
INSTALL a new BSIA. REFER to Brake Shift Interlock Actuator Service and Repair. CLEAR the DTCs. TEST the system for normal operation.
No
INSTALL a new SJB. REFER to Information Bus. CLEAR the DTCs. TEST the system for normal operation.
