Brake Master Cylinder - Hydro-Boost(R)
Removal and Installation
WARNING: Do not use any fluid other than clean brake fluid meeting manufacturer's specification. Additionally, do not use brake fluid that has been previously drained. Following these instructions will help prevent system contamination, brake component damage and the risk of serious personal injury.

NOTICE: Do not spill brake fluid on painted or plastic surfaces or damage to the surface may occur. If brake fluid is spilled onto a painted or plastic surface, immediately wash the surface with water.
All vehicles
1. Remove the coolant reservoir bolts and position the reservoir aside.
- To install, tighten to 10 Nm (89 lb-in).
Diesel engine equipped vehicles
2. Disconnect the coolant hoses from the air cleaner outlet tube.
3. Loosen the clamp and disconnect the air cleaner outlet tube.
4. Disconnect the Mass Air Flow (MAF) sensor electrical connector.
5. Disconnect the 3 latches and remove the air cleaner cover.
Gasoline engines equipped vehicles
6. Disconnect the power cable at the Power Distribution Box (PDB) and position the box aside.
All vehicles
7. Disconnect the brake fluid level switch electrical connector.
8. Disconnect the speed control deactivator switch electrical connector.
9. Disconnect the master cylinder brake tube fittings.
- On vehicles not equipped with Roll Stability Control (RSC(R)), tighten fittings to 18 Nm (159 lb-in).
- On vehicles equipped with RSC(R), tighten fittings to 28 Nm (21 lb-ft).
10. Remove the nuts and the outer power steering tube bracket.
- To install, tighten to 9 Nm (80 lb-in).
11. NOTE: The brake master cylinder nuts are a torque-prevailing type and cannot be reused.
Remove and discard the brake master cylinder nuts.
- To install, tighten the new nuts to 26 Nm (19 lb-ft).
12. Remove the inner power steering tube bracket.
13. Remove the brake master cylinder.
14. To install, reverse the removal procedure.
